• Hi folks,

First sale here, hope it works out (have read the rules).

House rules dictate I need to get rid of my size 54 steel frame Genesis Equilibrium and medium steel frame Mango Pooch 2x 8 Claris Mixte. I am looking for £500 for the Genesis and £130 for the Mango, but let me know if I am way off. If you buy both bikes you get them for £530.

The gist of the Equilibrium is:

    • size 54 (works perfectly for me at 181cm and 88 kilos with a wide handlebar but could work for someone shorter (got a narrow 40cm genesis handlebar I can throw in with the bike) or a wee bit taller
    • had a brake service 2-3 months ago
    • in good nick aside a few cosmetic markings
    • carbon forked,
    • sram apex groupset
Have added and ridden for 3 months (probs 600km?)
    • a new 52cm ritchey ergomax XL handlebar,
    • a new fancy 'cowbell' bell that continously lets pedestrians now that I'm/you're around
    • a new 35mm schwalbe marathon e-plus tires
    • a new tortec rear rack rated to 25 kilos
-a new zefal clip-on rear mudgard
    • a new Wolftooth stem cap (orange for speed!)
    • a used Thomson Elite setback seatpost
    • an old but unused Genesis saddle (removed my old saddle for the sale)
    • can give you some new handlebar tape also (orange for speed!)

See photos. Please notice the speedy orange (red is not faster!)

The Mango Pooch Mixte (steel frame) is unpretentious, lock-up-able and a great for groceries, getting around town, gym trips, the pub etc.

    • medium size (works for me at 181c, also on 15 km commute rides, just somewhat upright)
    • bombproof but not very fancy 2x 8 claris groupset (works well with the speedy orange bits, particularly on down hill sections!).
    • a used BLB front rack
Have added and ridden sporadically for 1 month
    • a new Ergotec steel 620mm flat bar
    • new ergon GA3 fat version grips (ignore the old sweaty GP3's on the photo, are going on m new second bike),
    • new 28mm schwalbe marathon greenguard tires front and rear.
    • a new Tortec (i think) rack with two pannier rack levels rated for 25 kilos
-a new zefal clip-on rear mudgard
    • can add orange reflective tape for speed boost
      See photo for general impression.

I am looking for £500 for the Genesis and £130 for the Mango, but let me know if I am way off. If you buy both bikes you get them for £530.

Don't have the skills to split, sorry. Also no good experiences with post/courier (got a busted handlebar and brake disc on two different occasions).

Am fine to meet in Central London, N17, N22, E17, E5 and N15 and thereabouts.

    Thanks for looking!

  • Sorry, not sure how to edit (on a phone). But these nned new homes.

    So price drop:

£475 for both, or £450 for the Equilibrium and £100 for the Mango.

Will edit the numbers in the original post if I figure it out, sorry.

  • Pming re mango!

  • Sorry folks, still haven't figured out how to edit the listing on my phone, but the Mango Pooch is gone.

  • Both bikes gone, thanks. Will edit this on a laptop later today.

  • Just a PSA that Martin is an absolute champ. Gave him a good bit of extra cash by accident and he transferred it straight back (some of this will be going to the forum) - if I ever needed reminding about how great the forumites can be this was it!
