FS: Ribble 653 Roadbike 59

This was bought by my father from Ribble Cycles around 1992 from memory.
It is now in my ownership and l need rid as it is too large for me.

It has the following spec.

Reynolds 653 frame and fork.
Size is 59 ctt set tube, 57 top tube ctc.
It has some very nice details typical of Ribble frames of this era - internally routed rare brake cable, cast rear brake bridge, fully sloping fork crown.
Campagnolo Athena 8 speed groupset comprising:
32 hole Hubs
Headset
Chainset
Bottom Bracket
Rear mech
front mech
8 speed indexed shifters (these maybe better than Athena)
8 speed cassette and chain
Aerodynamic pedals with toe clips and straps
Original side pull calipers upgraded to Campagnolo Daytona dual pivot
Mavic Open 4CD 32 rims
Campagnolo Record brake levers
Rolls saddle
Cinelli XA stem
Cinelli Criterium

I have fitted the following new items
Fizik Bar tape
Michelin Pro 3 Race Tyres 23mm
Gear and brake Campagnolo ultra shift cables

It has been very lightly used over it’s lifetime as evidenced by a nearly complete lack of wear on the rim braking surface.

There are a few light marks here and there and a small amount of surface rush at the headset insertion point ton the lower race.

Some of the chromed bolts have surface rust on.

The quick release skewers have the worst of this.

The paint job is a bright metallic red with an almost florescent glow to it.

It wasn’t applied very evenly so some areas are a bit thin.

Other than that it is remarkable condition.

I am asking £350 for this.

Nice tight geometry, decent equipment and much better to have (slightly) too little paint than too much. Why is this not a bargain?
