No worries👍 And condor didn't have one.
Hi there,
For sale: this incredible jacket. Made of the proprietary Schloss Tex fabric it's 'the lightest 3-layer waterproof shell Assos have made to date'. Reduced seams from all previous models, folds down to nothing, waterproof and highly breathable, 'rustle free and stretchy'. Enhanced two-way grab zip and cut. Marginally bulkier than a shake-dry but much more durable - either as a highly packable wind or rain layer. The stretch means that even though this is a snug, cycle-profile modeled fit over a jersey (it is so nice to wear, looks slightly odd in photos), if in bikepacking need I can wear it over my lightweight down jacket for added protection when the temperature drops. The fit is great, the engineering and finish really something. The Propeller colour is also fantastic IMO, the material genuinely optically quite unique - and great in low light (along with the reflective strip that is now printed rather than a separate panel). It's this:

Currently retails at £290 from Assos, £246.50 from Wiggle, and the old versions barely drop below £200 even now on sale (that I've ever seen). The obvious question: why so cheap (comparatively - I realize this is an expensive piece of kit, even if it's a 3-season piece of utility wear)? Well, long story short, I bought it from the US and when it arrived I realised there are two small differences from the version I'd seen in store - the collar badge is a different colour and there is a small dart seam in the middle at the back, made like all the others and under the printed reflective strip (so not a repair - see comparative images below). After contacting Assos I was told that this was the pre-sale version (a 'first pre-pack garment'), and these two changes were made before the full roll-out (apparently the 'C' in the code on the tag identifies this). I complained, as this was not listed on the sale / in the sale images, and through a convoluted discussion of exchanges and discounts with related customs and shipping fees etc., I have the release version and - rather than getting a refund and losing money on the exchange - I kept this one with the intention of offering it on here / passing on the discount. The differences are as above / in the images below. The only 'functional' difference is that the rear of the jacket doesn't sit quite as flat across the pockets as the release version, but then you'd only notice this if you knew to look (very closely), and if you had anything in your rear pocket you wouldn't notice anyway. Note also that the previous versions had seams running all the way up the back... For those more forensically-minded, if you look closely at the rear images on the Assos website you can actually make out the dart seam in the reflective strip.
Convoluted story, but a great jacket. The fit and everything other than these two small details is exactly the same as those available in store (Assos in town, Condor etc.). This is a size Medium. As I say I'm recouping costs and I think it's a fair split, and a great deal if you want one of these IMO. I can post at cost but I'd insist on it going recorded given the value. Happy to meet so you can take a look for yourself. Labelled, boxed and wrapped for de-boxing pleasure. Any questions / more images, just ask. £150 + postage if required - SOLD
