Looks like this mech comes in 4 different attachment styles depending on the frame,

Yes, unfortunately none of those seem to be a standard style braze on mount. Being a silly carbon frame it's not got a round seat tube so you can't use a band-on either.
Think most likely I'm just going to stick with 1x11 on it and try and resell the front mech.
Obviously really high demand for MTB front mechs these days so sure I'll get my money back...

Type F appears to use what looks like a standard braze-on style mount.

which doesn't seem to exist for MTB mechs as far as I can work out. You'd think there'd be a sinmple adaptor so they can be used on 'gravel' tyle bikes but seems not.
made the mistake of ordering mech on sale from merlin about a year ago as it was described as 'braze on' and too late to return it now. Suppose it serves me right for just leaving it in a box until my 1x11 setup wore out.

Oh well.
I wonder why frame manufacturers (and Shimano) decided there should be so many different ways to attach a front mech to a frame???

It is annoying, but in any case, you can't mix road di2 components (shifters, derailleurs) with mtb ones.
I think the reasonning for this array of deraileur mounts is that mtb franes can have radically different geometries. Full sussies, downhill and hardtails come in hundreds of different shapes, chainrings are way smaller than road ones, etc.
Obviously i dont know what stuff you have on the bike at the moment.

It's got xt di2 rear mech and road style hydro shifters and mtb style junction box, pretty sure the front mech would work with those if I could just attach it to frame.
Imagine shimano are selling so few mtb front mechs these days that they've not made much effort with all the adaptors /mounts. -

The compatibility chart says no, but obviously it might be more cautious than necessary, i have not tried this combo exactly.

Confirmed by frame maker (bombtrack) that there's no way of attaching a mtb style mech to a road style braze on hanger.
Just thought I'd post an update should anyone else be trying to do the same.
Or be in the market for an unused di2 xt front mech...
Does anyone know if/how I can mount a di2 m8070 front mech to a frame with braze on style mount - it's a Bombtrack hook Ext C and has a removable mounting plate - see in the picture. The mount that came with it isn't compatible and none of the various Shimano adaptors seem to be right. Frame tube isn't pround either so can't use a band on mount.
