Look PP76 repair and servicing

  • Although these pedals are ~35years old I quite like them so I pulled both of them apart to see how they go together and work out how they came apart....
    (I also need to get home tonight so I had to bodge them back together during lunch)

    Anyway - it turns out that the bearing has completely decomposed and disappeared so it was just the inner race left attached to the axle. The balls themselves were distributed along the A30 and the outer race is still jammed in the pedal housing...

  • Does anyone know what size bearing fits the outside of a pp76 or any late 80's looks

  • I've made a crappy plain bearing out of some nylon washers that I'm hoping will get me the 15 miles home again so the pedal's currently on my bike - I'm guessing that the bearing size is 607...

    I've never pulled these type of looks apart before so I'm not clear on how I'm going to eject the outer bearing race now that it's no longer attached to a bearing assembly...
