Shimano STX Special Edition Parallax hubs
Ritchey Rock 440 26in rims
32 spokes front & rear
Includes QR skewers and Marin Lite 2.1in off road tyres with inner tubes
This is a lovely wheelset I was really hoping to use for a build but the freehub is for a 7 speed cassette. I think you can replace the freehub with a 10 speed and I believe you could also just grind the splines back with a lathe to fit a wider cassette, but I don’t have the tools or skills to do this. It would be perfect for a rebuild or upgrade of a 7 speed set up. From Sheldon Brown:
“7-speed hubs only accept 7-speed cassettes --though 8 or 9 sprockets can be installed on a 7-speed hub, using 9- or 10-speed spacing. It is also possible to transplant an 8- 9- 10-speed cassette body onto most 7-speed Freehubs.”
They date from 1994 but clearly haven’t been ridden much. Very good condition for their age, hub bearings are pretty smooth and rims are true with hardly any wear, as shown. Bit of grime which I will clean, no major damage / deep scratches / dents etc.
Pictures to follow below.
£60 o.n.o.
Collection from London NW3 please. Would really prefer not to post if possible. I could meet more central with a couple of days notice, and might also be able to deliver within a reasonable distance (north of the river / inside M25 maybe).
Please get in touch if you have any questions. Thanks for looking!
Don't worry about formatting, just type in the text and we'll take care of making sense of it. We will auto-convert links, and if you put asterisks around words we will make them bold.
Tips:
Create headers by underlining text with ==== or ----
To *italicise* text put one asterisk each side of the word
To **bold** text put two asterisks each side of the word
Embed images by entering: ![](https://www.google.co.uk/images/srpr/logo4w.png) That's the hard one: exclamation, square brackets and then the URL to the image in brackets.
* Create lists by starting lines with asterisks
1. Create numbered lists by starting lines with a number and a dot

For syntax highlighting, surround the code block with three backticks:
```
Just like Github, a blank line must precede a code block.
