We have loads of squirrels at our ends. The critters scale vertical walls covered in pebble dash. My neighbour had a few intruders when he was building his extension last year.
They are just rats with bushy tails, right?

I have squirrels and rats in my back garden, and yes, they're both equally adorable :-)

Buggers will never let me close enough to photograph them for this thread though

Had one in the roof again last night.
I have nothing against squirrels in general, but these specific squirrels have a date with the grim reaper.

Here’s a black squirrel. There seems to be a few around my work.

My eldest is obsessed with red squirrels. We made a trip to brownsea island to try and see some this summer. Managed to glimpse one for a about 15 seconds so she was happy.

Haha, very cute 🙂
How do they "shout" though? Think 've never heard squirrels being vocal..

The grey squirrel is an incredibly destructive invasive species/pest but luckily for them they look cute.

My mother was the go-to person to present with injured or orphaned animals. When I lived with my parents we had two aviaries in the garden. One contained two tawny owls and the other had a kestrel. We were given a very young grey squirrel by a neighbour and kept him indoors feeding him with an ear dropper every two hours. I never did the night shift. He was brilliant and a lot of fun but then once his "nuts dropped" he would resist going back in his cage in a bitey way. The kestrel died, conveniently, so the aviary was converted to squirrel's drey. He lived to 8 years old which is a lot longer than in the wild.

A fair few years ago, I went to Center Parcs with my then-girlfriend.
The little chalet thing we stayed in backed on to some woods, and squirrels were present. I bought some nut mix in the little supermarket and filled the ashtray so the little squirrels could have snacks.
Over the course of a few days I moved it closer and closer to the chalet.
Eventually proffing a Brazil nut to the squirrel directly in my outstretched hand.Little fucker lunged forward, missed the nut and bit my finger.
I did spend a few days wondering whether I would get squirrel powers, but alas not.
..your thread for all things squirrel.
