1400km 🤯London - Edinburgh - London audax, a handful ride fixed each time the event takes place. 2022 is the next running.
The Roberts has completed lots of 600s, 400s, 300s & 200s as well over the years. Hilly 600 km rides in Wales, Wessex and Kernow too.

That’s a beaut! But yeah a bit long for me, unless with townie bars (puppies look away).
Perhaps one of @skalliwag ’s if I’m right about how he likes to sink the braze into the stay ends.

I have a friend of a friend who has expressed serious interest and has first option.
Thank you for the kind comments. I agree she's a beaut and will be sorry to see her go. Not in the same class but I've still got a Pompino for some fixed fun.

SOLD
Up for sale is my classic Roberts Fixed bike which I've owned since 2005 and dates from 2002, I'm the 2nd owner. I've used this solely for audax events up to distances of 1400 km and it has been well maintained and cared for. It is responsive and comfortable with that special "zing" found in a high quality steel frame.
The frame is beautifully made from Columbus Nivachrom EL (extra light). The dimensions are effective top tube 57.5 cm, seat tube 55 cm c-t and head tube 20 cm. It fits me well at 186 cm. Standard drop brakes are used with the pads in the lowest position to give decent clearance for 25 mm tyres with mudguards. The frame has no dings/dents and the green metallic paint is in overall good condition, there are a few small stone chips which have been touched up with matching nail polish.
Components:
TA Specialites track chainset 165 mm with Brev chainring. Gearing is 42 x 16. 1/8" drivetrain
Goldtec hubs with Ambrosio Excellence 32 hole rims, butted SS spokes. The front wheel was re-built with a silver rim approx 600 km ago and the blue rear rim is the original one with plenty of wear remaining. A replacement silver rim to match the front is included. EAI sprocket. Continental 4 Seasons 25 mm tyres.
Shimano Ultegra brake calipers
Surly chain tug
Token 110 mm stem and Ritchey 42 cm bars
Selle Italia Signo saddle and Control Tech seatpost
Shimano SPD pedals
SKS mudguards
The asking price is £700 but I'm open to offers particularly if you're part of the Audax community :-)
Collection from Ealing W5.
