That's nice Tom.

Interested but I’m not in London..
What’s underneath the shimano stickers and the white band on the down tube? Are the threads ok?
It’s a Carlton carrera by the way. Cheers -

Thanks folks.
I’ll have a look for u, cheers. Don’t want to peel them off if they’re original.. threads are spot on, very well looked after as are all the dropouts with very strong Campag stamping.
Cheers. T -

Thanks - none of the stickers i've mentioned are original.

It might have been used in a race and the Shimano (sponsor) might have been put on at that time. I'd leave them.
The white band is to protect the frame from the front brake hitting it if the cockpit turns all the way (usually when standing or being worked on ) so that could be removed. It might have some scratch underneath. Or not :)Nice one.

Or the previous owner might’ve just liked shimano stuff and thought they looked good.🤓

Or that :)

Cheers folks.
So the DT sticker is off and totally clean underneath.
I’m not taking the Shimano ones off as they’re individual letters not one big one. All looks super smooth and clean around them, they’re not big enough to disguise anything of note.

Hey. From memory it has some superficial tarnishing, don't think it was very deep so could scrub off or be dealt with Evaporust or similar. I can ask my bro for closeups when he gets time.
@HarmanMogul thanks, it's really nice IRL but with the amount of bikes and frames I have to say no ;)

Tried Carlton FB group yet?

Thanks mate but not on FB for years.. Probably underselling it here and no huge rush to sell the lockup still has some space ;) On that note I have a Kona Hahanna Race Lite that may have to go to fund a present for my brother ;) T

Asked the Carlton peeps on FB and it's a Carlton Carrera 1986.
I checked it this morning and it's indeed a quality frame all around.
Forks need polishing at the very minimum.
Attached another example, slightly different paintscheme (a more recent one it seems)
Still thinking about it being it so close :)
But definitely a free bump for a great frame.

What I said 2 months ago ;)
Quality frames which came with 105 Golden Arrow groupset. Worth snapping up I’d say.
Lives with my brother in Brentford now.
56/57 Carlton 531c build, made in their Worksop facilities
Rare build, a very light and nimble frame.
Campag dropouts front and rear.
Minor superficial tarnishing etc but nothing deep and no dents or cracks.
Let me know if interested and my bro can sort out viewings and pickup.
£150..130..120
Thanks. T
