How have you managed to fit that stem with a threaded steerer?

Probably a quill stem adapter, allows you to fit an ahead stem onto a threaded steerer. Just Google search "quill stem adapter".

Yeh, I believe drifter is right. I didn’t build it up myself though. Been to the bike shop recently where they fitted
a new heatset and refitted the bars -

Bought this a few years back on here and has served me well. Rode London to Paris and used it for weekend rides, but has been sitting in a garage for the past 2+ years, so ready to go.
