Hi,

Yesterday, 3 months ago, I was on a hiking path with my Macho King and my friend Leo was riding its Sobre Dad MTB.

Leo was playing with the littles jumps and I was trying not to destroy my 853 steel frame with carbon fork.

Enough was enough, I "needed" a MTB.

After hours of scrolling and looking for a trail bike, my choice stops on a Trek Roscoe. Or maybe an Orbea Laufey. Or maybe on a Radon Cragger. A Merida Big Trail ? A Canyon Stoic ? A Commencal Meta HT... way too much choice.

So I decided to built the bike with parts left of the Macho King : the horribles Salsa grips.

The Bike-Components Podsol was a perfect option because I needed an XL frame and it was designed to fit a 130mm fork which is enough for me.

Two years ago I was super excited by the Trust Message fork.
This "thing" is ugly but what a piece of engineering !
The price was also out of my league. Thanks to the Covid19, Trust isn't alive but there are deadstocks and you can now find it for a reasonnable price.

Two months after selling my macho king, the frame and fork where here.

I didn't want 19 speed on my biek, because I'm not... because I don't care.
So I choose Box Components 9 speed groupset. It seems cheap and strong.

Some Hope Fortus 30 wheels, Semislick tyres because I hate mud.

A 2011 red ano tuning Brooklyn stem and Spank handlebar.
A telescopic seatpost without any cable because I also hate cables.

Some simple brakes and crankset and here we go !

Très chic but needs a silver seatpost. Particularly obvious next to all these silver poles.
