Would something like this suit him? 1x8 raleigh cajun

That’s nice - would need a bigger range on the back and a riser, but could be a platform to build from.
What size is that and how much? -

don't know much about mtb sizing - but in road measurement it has st=48cm, tt=53cm. Looking for £250 collection only in London E14, but let me know if the asking price is off. Details below:

Surface rust & scratches expected on a frame this age, plus a minor dent on top tube. The bike is at my brother's place now but I can take some pictures to highlight the imperfection this weekend.
With regards to riser setup, I can swap in (or include for extra +£10) a flat bar set up with tektro brakes and claris 8 sp trigger shifter, clarks grip & a bell
edit: also can throw in a rear rack for free

Cheers, am sending on the details now.
He’s had a Trek 17” nicked and my offer of a 1x9 Franken-Rockhopper didn’t quite fit his needs/style: Mid-50s with crumbling knees. Would like something similar to the stolen bike, but maybe less of the boat anchor this time, eh?
