  • So, I had decided to reduce the numbers of frames and bikes I own and I am serious about it.
So I went and bought this lovely Gianni Motta Personal 2001R for Frugeri (from Novara, IT)

  • Haven't physically received it yet. Has to be still shipped and brought over to the Uk, so it'll take time to build it up.

  • These are wonderful frames, I have one too. I can never stop looking at those beautiful seat stays. Yours looks like Gilco tubing so must be a very high-end version. Enjoy!

  • Oohh lovely, was thinking to go neo retro as well .
I think silver will look better than black, so we'll see.

Yours is a Personal or Personal 2001 or 2001R?

  • Mine is just a Personal and must be a bit older than yours. It’s still quite light though and very nice to ride. I agree silver parts would look amazing!

  • Love the color on yours. Looks amazing.

  • Thank you - looking forward to see what you do with yours!

  • It's in the house. Pure beauty

  • I know it's screaming for Super Record. But I'll got for 7400 for now.

  • I'm in love indeed.

  • Almost there...

  • Was thinking black tape? The handlebar is carbon.

I di have an issue with internal cabling. The cable doesn't come out the other side anymore. It only did once now it doesn't anymore. Not sure what has happened.

Guess I'll have to go fishing for cables and pull it out the other side somehow. Pain.

  • And also the left downtube lever has a spring in it and when I place it on the frame pushes the lever almost at a 90 degree angle with the frame itself. If I tighten the lever properly the spring isn't strong to push it up again. But I'd have assumed it'd stop parallel to the frame but there's no stopping there. It's either at almost -90 degrees or at +90 (not so much but surely not parallel to the frame)

Guess I'll have to dismantle it

  • Didn't solve the issue with shifters, but progress...
