Also if anyone has good tips on how to search for 1" that would be appreciated.
Idk if the use of the quote mark for inch fucks up use of "term" and also searches always bring up 1 1/8".

Was there a 1” crosscheck? I thought it was only the “rat” fork aka steamroller fork they did in 1”?
I’ve tried searching for “inch threadless” with some success before. Think it depends where you are searching, Ebay doesn’t seem to recognise the “ .

Was there a 1” crosscheck?
Yes. For something like 2yrs when it first came out. IDK if it even came out in the UK.
One of those things I really kick myself over. I meant to buy one, didn't. Then just before I went to the states got round to finding a stockist there who still had some. But at the time my OH felt that sending stuff to the friends who were putting us up while we found a place was an imposition. So I didn't do it when I could have easily brought it back on a trip. Then when we moved back to the UK we were on the nose of every bag and weight limit.

I wonder how hard it would be for someone to braze a 1" steerer into a 1 1/8" tube?
I guess it's the combo of the crown race and then having a effectively heating up the old steerer tube without fucking the bond up with the new one inside.
From a position of utter ignorance it seems so easy.

Hi there - if OP isn't interested I might be interested in the Royal or Cross Check forks. I need 200cm steerer, though. It's for a Raleigh Randonneur. Thanks!
Long shot, but I'm after the 1" version of the Surly Cross Check forks.
Should have brought some back from the States when I had the chance, but didn't.
Alternatively if anyone has any similar forks:
Cheers
