  • I bought this second-hand early in Lockdown I, used it quite a bit with Zwift up until fairly recently when I upgraded to a Tacx Neo.

I sold it on ebay a couple of weeks ago. The buyer has just asked to return it because (a) it's noisy and it vibrates a bit when spinning down. And (b) he's had trouble getting it to stay connected to whatever device he's using.

I don't think either is a major issue - it's just as noisy/vibrates as when I started using it and didn't get any worse while using it approx 5 times a week. Noise is pretty consistent with what you hear on this video https://wahoofitness.yonyx.com/y/conversation/?id=c6bb68d0-be88-11e7-b908-bc764e10c19d for a kickr 17. Noisier than my new trainer, but easily drowned out by headphones. Playing around with the belt tension may make it quieter.

I had some dropouts with the connection when I first got it, but bought a new ANT+ USB dongle and from then on it was totally reliable. So I don't think this is an issue either, though maybe it's not performing as well via Bluetooth or something. Am happy to share my Zwift logs or whatever if it provides reassurance. Power data was always consistent in my experience - produces much the same numbers as my newer trainer does, just slightly more noisily.

Anyway, while it's tempting to argue it out on ebay, I'd rather maintain my feedback. Plus I told the guy i was happy to refund if he had any problems so don't want to go back on that.

If anyone here would like it, I'll do it for £500 which is under what I sold it for. Obviously given the current apocalypse I can't have anyone round to test it, but if you buy it and think there's anything seriously wrong with it, I'm happy to refund if you bring it back. I'm not going to post, but I don't mind delivering it if it's not too inconvenient a drive from SW2 and you cover fuel costs. Otherwise collect from SW2, just off Brixton Hill.

It doesn't come with a cassette or sensors, just a standard QR lever. Shimano freehub. You can get a thru axle conversion kits for this model but I don't have it. ERG mode works well - responded a little quicker than the Tacx in my opinion.

Not sure if there's anything else I need to add -just ask if you have any questions.

  • I have a spare thru axle kit for this version should a respective buyer need it. Happy to let it go for £15. Good luck with the main turbo sale.
