  • Hey guys. Im ordering a custom frame so I made this;

    https://www.bikecad.ca/1608687197766

    Is there anything I can do to improve the geometry?
    Feel free to give your opinions too.

  • What will you be using it for? Track only? Those angles are pretty savage and toe overlap could be a problem.

  • With that angle seat tube and an inline seat post, your saddle is further forward than the bottom bracket which is pretty unusual and any decent length of ride may give you trouble with your hands and wrists

  • ill be using it for daily use. the toe overlap is not really a problem for me. I just wanted to try something different for the angles. Some one actually uses something similar for daily use. With an inline seat post. Im quite short so I think it should be okay.

  • ill be using for everything.

    @NurseHolliday

  • It would be much better if I had BikeCad Pro so I can see how i will sit on the bike and get the proper geometry.

  • what do you want to hear exactly? what kind of 'improvement' are you looking for?

    people have pointed out that it's very aggressive, but you say you want it like that.

    it's your money

  • If there's anything wrong with the geometry. Like if the bike will handle really bad or anything.

  • The bike will handle like the geometry suggests, pretty crazy. You may like that idk. If you dont know then probably wise to go with more normal geo.

  • How do you turn the front wheel with the bars overlapping?

  • handlebar overlap?

  • It should handle like a psychopathic weasel on speed. We know you are not tall, the 48cm frame is a clue. It is normal for smaller frames to be steeper, but you might want to back off those angles a little. I have seen overlap like that cause half the front spokes stripped out by a clumsy starting effort, complete with faceplant.

  • what do you mean by crazy? very twitchy? most keirin njs frames have steep angles and quite a lot of people like to ride those frame. bear in mind there are keirin frames with a 90 degree seat tube angle

  • how have you decided that you need to spend money on a custom bike?

  • its not expensive. 240 euros for a frame with shipping.

  • what do you mean by crazy? very twitchy?

    "like a psychopathic weasel on speed" - @ColinTheBald

    I think this is accurate

  • the thing is if I decrease the angles I will not get the rake that I want. Im going to use a 30mm rake fork

  • If you're looking for support or justification for the 'mad' geometry, you won't find it here. Most people on here are categorically in the 'middle aged with back problems' end of the spectrum now and just want comfortable bikes.

    You think this works for you? Go for it, about 10 years ago this is what people wanted. No longer.
    The bike will handle very quickly and is arguably uncomfortable. A little like how the Gangsta was worshipped but frankly, rode like a rod was up your arse.

    I dunno how old you are, but shit...just go for it. People used to order crazy Mielecs for shits and giggles so why the hell not?

  • Yeah that's exactly what I'm about to do. Thanks for making me realise that. :)

  • people like NJS bikes because of their reputation as a do-it-all bike, yeah. I'd make the seat tube lean forward, in fact.

  • a better title for this thread should be "will this explode?"

  • Ride the bike that makes you happy now. The boring shit comes later. I'm looking at you Gravel thread.
