BTW Gazelle is a coincidence, it's a shop in France.

Lovely. Interestingly short top tube, how tall are you?

Ah I have wanted one of these for ages - can't afford right now but glws!

I’m 5’ 7ish, this was never the perfect size for me though as I’m more comfy with a longer seat and head tube and a slightly shorter still top tube. I could have used this with the post at full extension but I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t have enjoyed it!

Hi I am interested in the Altec if it is still for sale, couple of questions to confirm that the seat tube is 49cm not the top tube and are the knocks you mention just to paint rather than dents in the tubing?
Thanks Simon

SOLD.
The thinking man's Vitus/Alan, and much rarer, the Altec was a Stronglight built aluminium lugged and tubed road frameset, bonded like the others. The lug work is much finer and the finish is (having owned all three, and a Sakae Litage or two) probably the best with lovely anodising. This frameset has three annoying features: quill setapost; French threaded BB and French threaded headset, luckily I have resolved all three problems for you as it comes with a Stronglight quill seatpost, a Stronglight headset and a NOS Mavic 600 RD French threaded BB.
Top tube = 53 cm centre to centre
Seat tube = 49 cm centre to centre
126 mm spaced rear end
It has a few knocks and one of the plastic brake cable guides has a split in it but overall it's very good for an 80s frame.
I also have an almost complete (except for the brake levers) Mavic groupset with wheels that'll work a treat for this available separately.
£200 - collect from Balham or I can post.
