  • They read about scoble buying a bike 3 sizes too big for him so that he can have 1950s bike fit and gave up. They couldn’t keep up. Satire was dead.

  • Where is this discussed? (Scoble bike fit)

  • Nah, just out of stock on everything and I'm sure the emails are too much to manage. Re-opening once they have more stock in 2021. Working on other stuff in the interim.

This was on the Radavist in the comments by Prolly. Seems strange to post something that seems like they’re gone for good on their website though.

  • Just building the hype.

The run of Romanceurs and Evasions they just did sold out pretty quickly, so perhaps they’re feeling a bit flush and fancied a break over the festive season. They might be overpriced and unobtainable but it would be sad if they were gone for good.

  • Yeah, I really like their frames. I will probably never buy one, but I’m glad I have my Clydesdale fork if they are gone for good.

  • Pretty sure this happened before, closed up for a bit and went on a 6 month tour.

  • Don't know if it's hype building, they probably have very small production runs (Soma for example, do runs of about 200). Don't think they're too overpriced, just niche and low quantity, so prices will be higher, plus you've got the Ronnie tax to factor in, but hey, I like what they do.

  • Absolutely, I’m definitely a fan. The hype comment was tongue in cheek really - he is really open about how much he hates the admin side of running a business and, if you can afford to, I’m sure it would be super tempting just to wrap it all up for a bit and have a break.

Price wise, agreed if you’re in the us. Getting one here is a bit more painful.

  • Yeah, shipping to UK would be a bit prohibitive (overall price wise). If I ever want one (presuming they're available) I'll take a holiday, take a shit frame with me in a bike box, buy a Crust, leave other frame in US. Trip to Murica and new bike all in one go.

  • there was some snippets about scamming on one of the owners instas, i assume it's a bit of column a, bit of column b

    A) successful season left them wanting a break, build some hype, bike production lines are rammed and you couldn't get anything if you wanted too

    B) deal with the general annoyances of running small businesses, focus on personal projects which dont rely on 6 month lead times and rona delays

hope they do come back, probably the only non dorky cycling lifestyle brand, they seem quite switched on

    also lol @amey

  • Did lol
