Implants

  • Hi guys,

So, I work for a small London based startup called Impli specializing in implantable technologies and I wanted to hear your opinions on implants.

It is basically a storage of public and private medical records. The goal is to help you have your medical records on you 24/7 in a small implant, everywhere in the world. I come to this forum to try and get some feedback from your community as one of our customers is a cyclist. The idea is that if you were to be in an accident, and unconscious when the first responders arrive, they could have access to your medical records quickly in order to know your blood type, allergies to some medications etc...

If you are curious, please feel free to listen to Archie's story (one of our first cyclists that had an implant) (https://www.instagram.com/p/CG-ulcgDp5r/)

Would you get an Implant? Do you think it is useful for the cyclist community?

Thank you for taking the time,

    Lucas

  • Seems wiser to just have an ICE contact on your phone.

    Two flaws I think of:
    1) Will ER staff look for it? (it wastes time to do so if you're really in a bad way, and if you're in that state they're already looking at your phone)
    2) Why undergo any medical procedure, even one as small as an implant, when it's not needed?

Frankly the simpler solution would be dog tags made of silicon or one of those rubber charity bracelets but with basic ID and blood type on it... simpler, cheaper, easier for ER staff to discover and read.

  • This reeks of illuminati control, who sent you Bill Gates?

  • I think thy ignore any blood type ID and just give you plasma until they type it themselves

You could have information on this chip about your Covid vaccination status and stop you using commercial flights/ going to the pub if you aren’t up to date.
