• my commuter has been nicked outside asda :(

looking for a cheap replacement -- something along a very small rigid mtb that could handle a front rack etc.

    anyone got anything?

  • Sorry to hear that.

Got a Kona lava done from 93/4. Currently frame plus cranks, chainset, mechs, Fred Salmon seatpost (yep) and saddle. Could probably pinch a fork off something else.

    Want me to dm pics?

  • yeah sure!

  • I have this lovely Peugeot Rock'it 105.

45cm ST CTT, 52cm TT CTC projected.
    3x6 speed.

Time wrap as it has only seen 20km of use ever.

    Has mudguard and rack eyes.

  • Sorry to hear about the thievery, seems worrying, I guess it's on the up but I didn't think bikes getting nicked whilst you were in Asda was a thing around here.

I have a totally busted gt tequesta in my shed. approx 52.5 top tube c2c and 45cm seat tube from top of bb. It's a complete project, the opposite of vince's stunner above. But it has mudguard and front rack eyelets. It's identical to one I did up previously hence before and potential after pic.

could furnish you with a functional front wheel + 2x tyres to help renovation.

  • Thanks @Vince 's is way too nice for me ... and the GT is more along the lines of what I'm looking for! but looking for something that's more or less complete. cheers though!

  • how much are you looking for out of curiosity? though I think I need something a bit more beaten up ...

given that I just saw the same 2 thieves steal another bike in broad daylight a couple days later ...

  • I'm building this one atm but might be too "nice" (I see you're more looking for something more beaten up).

  • I have listed it here:
    https://www.lfgss.com/conversations/353111/

    Sold for £200

Kryptonite locks offer a free 1 year insurance it you register your bike & lock with them so worth buying a new lock for about £35.

  • I've got a Marin Bobcat Trail in 16", £35, however non-original fork and I'm not in London.

  • was it the hardrock I picked up for you that time?

    Feckers.

  • I ended up giving that to a friend who needed it. Was using my tour de fer :(
