Pegoretti - testing waters

Posted on
  • This was built for me month of two before Dario's passing in 2018. I am considering selling as I am about to build a new Pegoretti and admittedly it might be hard to explain to my wife why ...

Custom Pegoretti with mostly Campagnolo Super Record 11 mechanical but the chainset and brakes are Record.

I have number of different wheelsets I could put on that for the buyer but lets say that price is for the Fulcrum Carbon wheels with higher profile on that picture.

I also have EE cycleworks brakes currently on it but these rather stay with me unless you are willing to pay ...

Ridden in good weather only (except one instance of a bit of rain) not ridden much nor hard really.

Finishing kit is Fizik including seat. (seatpost is carbon rest alloy)

anyhow ... I was thinking £4750 - let me know or get in touch

  • Model?
    Size?

  • Size and close up shots will help you. Looks lovely glws

  • Great googly-moogly!

  • its DUENDE with a seat tube 52 and top 54 cm

  • @amey should buy it

  • Yep, for the fun of cutting the steerer.

  • Dibs EE brakes if you split.

  • for the stinner?

  • :) thanks - I think Ill hold on to them ;-)

  • £5k for rim brake road bike? SIGN ME UP

  • I might be old but I would not touch disk brake road bike with a barge poll ...

  • Disc Brakes are Dread bruh

  • Is this stock geometry?
If yes, is it a 52 or a 53? Measured ctc on the top tube the 52 has a 53.5 top tube, while 53 has a 54.3cm. I Know its splitting hair but with HT angle they size slightly differently with long steerer...

Talk to me if splitting is of interest.

  • this was custom. I can try to re-measure but its hard to do it to 5mm if honest ...

which part would you be interested in - pm me - I am not rejecting splitting - I simply think it looks good as is ... let me know

  • actually ... I should be able to ask Pegoretti's themselves ... considering my new frame should be exactly the same ... Ill find out

  • You've bought not one but two custom frames with too short of a head tube?

  • too short? what makes you think that ?

  • The massive spacer stack

Though I thought Dario was infamous for measuring people and then just giving them off the peg frames but with custom paint jobs.

  • I am old, fat and unfit due to health issues few years ago ... they left it to allow me to get into shape and cut the steerer later.

  • Pretty much this. Emperor's new clothes.
Also taking deposits but feeling no obligation to actually deliver a product.

I really wanted one long ago but not anymore.

  • Rode many bikes / frames over the years and whatever your opinion I can say that Dario's frames handle beautifully and are genuine pleasure to ride (note my stating that I am old and fat now). These are NO racing frames to make things clear - not the one I have or am getting.

When ordering few years ago he rejected measurements provided and requested it to be done his way plus pictures of me on the bike and description of what I want.

That lead to shorter seat tube than what I normally would want. Although in racing days on the track I would prefer 51/52cm frame due to the way they handle vs 54/55cm which I could also ride / race.

  • no denying they are pricy.

I look at it as my 'last' bike which I am looking/hoping to ride till I am dead ;-) (hence I went for a stainless steel).
