WTD 135mm disc fixed rear hub

  • Bolt on, ideally 32h and black.

    Surly ultra new or similar.

  • There wasn't much else out there than Surly Ultra New or Paul Word Fixed when I was looking for one. I went for the Ultra New and it's been nice. Good luck with your search!

edit - you might be able to use a trial bike rear hub, eg https://www.trial-bikes.com/en/echo-splined-rear-disc-hub-p-538082.html

  • Somebody was selling some Phils recently if you search for them.

Or I've used a flipped regular hub and bolted the cog onto the disc brake side if you're happy to not run a brake at the rear

  • Thanks both.

Yeah I had considered the route as per velosolo of converting a freehub rear, might be more economical than Surly, but as @cgg says they are solid..

  • hello,

sorry to bump but i am looking for the same.. and interested in that trial hub option ─ has anyone tried this / does it have any downsides? can't see any 36h ones, are they all 32h?

    thanks :)

  • I've got one of those screw on 6 bolt adapters and its brilliant! Bit of loctite and it's never come loose got a spare available if intrested

  • interesting - I think ideally I would like to keep option to run brake as well but will think about it

  • I got sorted via a Surly, so am looking to shift the stock Genesis 135mm SS disc wheelset - which I ran fixed at times with a lockring and Loctite. So if that's of any interest then let me know, can sell for the cost of the hubs alone.

  • hey very interested! it is actually for my Genesis Day One, so I don't have to lug the Alfine round all the time. what would that be cost wise?
