Has a single-bolt clamp not faceplate. And yes, strip. I realise this isn't 'the path of least resistance'!

Thanks again, this is really being bought in anticipation of the need to tweak the fit on a kid's bike in a few months time, so I'll hold out for a path-of-least-resistance option.

Thanks, that's definitely the right kind of geometry, although if it's from an 80's MTB I'm guessing it would have been for a 1" steerer (22.2mm diameter quill) rather than the 1 1/8" modern standard (25.4mm quill). What's stamped on the quill down by the wedge?
As per the title, something like this etc one . Not super short. Anyone got one kicking around?
