Brillo pads are better than tin foil. They are also good for getting paint transfer and scuffs off the frame when used gently.

For removing rust, I've used aluminium foil (just standard kitchen stuff) and vinegar. That works well on chromed areas. For "rustless" spokes you might need something a bit more beefy. For maintenance I've generally used turtle wax to help water bead up and run off. I've also used T-Cut with decent results for removing very superficial scratches and generally livening up paint.

Thanks a lot guys. Have a good idea what I am doing but its always good to get a bit of advice.
I have been tasked with restoring this old beach cruiser including trying to get the paint up to a nice shine.
Anyone got any advice on products I should be using? I have tried t cut in the past but not had great results.
On the spokes and rims I use tinfoil and a little oil but maybe there is a better option for this also.
Thanks
