Thanks for the suggestion Howard, there's not much post exposed above the seat tube, so I think the vice method is worth a shot before any cutting or drilling it. Gripping the post and turning the frame should provide more mechanical advantage, so if that doesn't work I reckon it's a lost cause as there's about 30cm of post stuck down there. Caustic soda dissolving would take forever....
Hi All, I've been doing battle with a stuck seatpost, alloy post in a steel frame. The frame is totally stripped other than the post, so I've been spraying Plus Gas through the BB shell and leaving it to soak, so now I'd like to try clamping the post in a vice and turning the the frame but don't have access to a vice. So does anyone have a bench vice I could use please, ideally around East / Central London? Thanks in advance!
