Thanks, I will show him but I think he was looking to start from somewhere with higher end parts to avoid buying a full XT groupset or the like.

Bontrager Racelite with full XT groupset? Not rigid - has SIDs.

That's sweet, I think he'll want something steel though as its for touring but I'll certainly ask.

For touring why would you then buy an xt group? This just needs a good clean, tyres, guards, racks, maybe a bar and stem and some tlc. Groupset all works bar needing a chain/checking wear to sprockets!

Rowdy, I'll pm you

He's planning on going to places without many bike shops and wants to make sure everything is as easy to replace and as bomb proof as possible. Hence 8 x 3 Deore xt.

Retro Grandis MTB (italy) for retro project. Frame in Columbus Nivacrom. Full LX Shimano Groupset 2000 3x9. Mavic X 222 rims laced on LX hubs. It comes with an alloy fork.
Rear hub needs a service. -

Nice bike! How much?

All bolt on bits a mix of XT except for chainset but could provide middleburn cranks if required. Probably be sold with a different seat and post.

Friend of mine is looking for a rigid retro mtb to turn into a tourer/functional bike. Looking for something around 18" but geometries vary quite a lot so others considered too. He is 5'11".
Looking for something decent, deore XT, DX that kind of thing.
Let me know if you've got anything
