General riding, fine.
Reclamping with kiddo seat, not worth the risk.

Thanks that is helpful. Is it the reclamping that is going to be a particular issue, or is this a more general precaution?
Also - I don’t know if you know if i have been unlucky here, or whether 8nm was always going to be a bit much. The frame is a low grade Columbus tube set I believe.
Attaching a Thule child seat to my commuter/beater this afternoon and I appear to have crushed the seat tube.
Followed the guidance of 8nm, and from the weight of the frame had assumed it was made from some not very fancy steel. However it has definitely been crimped by the clamp.
To those that know more than me about steel frames: any thoughts on how much of a problem this is would be really helpful. Obviously want this to be safe if i am going transport our son on it.
Many thanks in advance.
