Sidis gone, thanks!
Hi,
I have these pairs of shoes to give away. Collection from Bank or Finsbury Park, can post at cost. All free, forum donation encouraged.
The bad - Giro Republic 46
Had these for years and 1000's of kms. Now they feel too small so haven't used them in a while. The inside fabric against the heel has worn through, hacked it back together with some tape but it needs attention every now and then. One shoe has electrical tape, the other cotton bar tape. The cotton bar tape seems to be holding on much better so you might want to do that on the other side too. Come with okay SPD cleats.
The ugly - Giro Cylinder HV 47
Had these for a shorter time and used them for less distance than the Republics above but they're in tatters already. Holes through the upper, grippy rubber bits underneath worn to shred, and the soles have taken a shape of their own around the cleats.
I thought someone might want to salvage the cleat plate (which seems to be in good condition) to convert a pair of trainers or vans as @mashton did? The boas also work fine, though I'm not sure they can be removed from the shoes non-destructively.
If you really want to use them as they are on a bike I have a pair of Giro insoles that can go with them.
Thanks! Photos coming up shortly.
