• I'm pretty sure this is a San Cristobal model frame from the late 70's. Either SL or SLX tubing (no tube sticker visible though) it's in "honest?" condition. As you can see from the pictures the paint and chrome are well worn but it looks super cool as-is. Also a good candidate for a respray/resto. Campagnolo dropouts, thinned lugs (some of the best I've seen), this really is a quality frame. 565mm centre to centre on both the top tube and the seat tube, so ideal for a 6 footer.

  • I am a little confused, how can you make a judgement on what model it is when you cannot make a basic identification of the tubing ? SLX is ribbed inside the seat tube, and was introduced in the early 80s.

  • will need completely refurbishing, as the chrome is really not good. 250 seems high, given that it's expensive to replate. Is that a small dent in the head tube, or just some light reflecting near the rust spot? Lugs are ok, but I have seen better, and cleaner shorelines on the brazing, too. Basically, this is a project frame that needs a complete restoration. It is a quality frame, of course, I'm not disputing that.

  • oh, includes shipping, so not as expensive as I thought..... apologies.....

  • Thanks for the replies all. I started high, I know that.

The judgement on model was made by the amount of exposed chrome on the rear end, seems to match up with the model mentioned. Other models from the same era have full chrome back ends. Happy to make any specific checks for a potential buyer if needs be. The condition description was honest, and it’s obvious it will need restoration if you want it to look new, however that’s not everyone’s cup of tea. The lugs are excellent, and I have plenty of experience in that area.

  • not a fair comparison (custom build vs production bike), but this is what I rate fine lug work....
