Yes, you can get an apeman camera on Amazon for £30-40.
You can get insurance with British Cycling membership for around £30-40 a year. Same with London Cycle Campaign.

Howdy, neighbour,
Greetings from Ruislip!In my experience there are few malevolent drivers out here in the badlands of the north of the LB Hillingdon, just a lot who are unfamiliar with cyclists, and many who are frustrated that their shiny vehicles do not guarantee them immediate, unimpeded progress to their destinations.
Add on that we are sharing an unimproved pre-Victorian farmtrack-based road network,
and we will encounter many drivers who are oblivious to the needs of cyclists and oblivious to the opportunities to share the road width with other road users.Why not join us at a Wests Beers, or our 12th birthday celebration for further discussion?

Appreciate the replies and words of welcome. Will read into the insurance plans further in particular. Else, don't have anything going on the 14th, will plan to attend! Thanks for the invite!

You can get the same kind of insurance from Cycling UK and not have to worry that you’re funding racist, sexist, ableist dodgy cunts (oops, not meant to say that am I?!) at BC.
Hello, about two weeks new to London here. Expecting a short 3-4km commute to/from my workplace up in Northwood Hills area. Over last couple weeks I've digested quite a few videos from Silvio Diego to get a feel for the riding environment here (e.g. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Cef8WxQNZY
)
I'm expecting most of my commuting to be ridden on a sturdy electric conversion cargo bicycle I used as my daily commuter stateside (which I plan on configuring to be PAS/street legal power levels here). Separately, I have hobbies in central London that I intend on doing mixed commute using the tube and a plain Brompton S2L purchased from a fellow LFGSS'er.
I'm pretty confident in my ability to ride responsibly and courteously... just curious how much (and if I literally should have) insurance to ride hereabouts.
