  • My trusty old girl. I believe it’s a Raleigh frame and fork, prob late 80’s. It has Gipiemme rear drops, if that’s a clue. Paint is very ratty but sound underneath. Has a small ding on the top tube.
Almost new Sugino Messenger chainset, new chain. Open 4 rear rim, brake surface as new. Alex rims front, is fairly worn. Sealed bearing hubs, new bearings in both.
Currently fixed, with brake, with riser bars. Can fit a Cinelli cockpit - Criterium bars and 120 XA stem, with a pair of Tektro levers, which is how I ran it for years. Can also convert to SS with a rear brake and freewheel at extra cost.
Genuinely rides superb, but I can’t manage commuting on fixed any more due to age and living near Crystal Palace means I can’t get up the bastard hill on it.

    More pics/deets on request.

Looking for £175 as seen, more if you want the Cinelli bits and extra brake/freewheel.

  • Hi jj72 -- what kind of height rider does this fit? Does 21 inch refers to the seat tube or top tube? or is it square?

Also does this take old-size components (rear spacing, long-drop brakes, seat posts etc) or modern sizes? Hard to tell from the photo

  • Hiya. It’s a 21” seat tube. I’m 5’9 and that’s the saddle height I had it set to, tho I ride quite high. Not sure what the top tube length is tbh, I’ll go measure it tomorrow.

Rear spacing has been set to 120mm for a modern hub. Clearances are tight (it’s quite a sporty frame) and it takes 47mm brakes. Seatpost is 27.0mm. It’s a 1” quill stem, standard BB shell etc.

  • Thanks. It would be for one my kids. I'll measure them and see what they think of it.

Obvs, if you get an offer in the meantime, take it.

  • Cool. Just let me know.

  • Interesting. Rear brake bridge looks like it has diamonds holding it on, dropouts look portacatena, over bb cable guides and the all important oversize seat stay caps. The BB will be either stamped starting W meaning its a Carlton Pro / Raleigh Team or SB......

Late 70's or Early 80's. Post the frame number if poss. Could be a gem :)

  • Really? I hadn’t considered that. I’ll go look up the frame number, thanks.
