Wanted: retro MTB

  • Looking for an old rigid mountain bike to convert into a sturdy beater/commuter for my wife.

Looking for something mechanically sound (and steel preferred!), but nothing pristine or pretty. Actually the uglier the better as she'll need to lock it up outside. She's about 5'8" so frame size to match.

If you have partial builds please send my way as well!

    Budget...sub 150

    Chris

  • If no-one else comes up with a good complete, I have something that will need finishing?
Won’t be able to get a pic until tomorrow...
Marin Bear Valley sorta late ‘80s frame and fork with exciting parts-bin salvage options : )

  • Hi, I’ve got a Kona Hahana that might fir the bill, same as the stock pic below, please pm if interested...

  • Just seen thread, nm

  • Love the Cinelli. Assume you've got others lined up already?

  • Chatted to another cyclist on his morning commute earlier today...

He was on a mountain bike. A Pace RC200 F8 to be precise. Top bloke! Made my day seeing it being ridden.

Last Wednesday was in driving from Geneva to Evian les Bains and spotted a guy flying along on a Klein Attitude with Horizon Linear Fade (pink/blue colourway). Cool as :)

  • Yeah although people are being super slow at replying, £150 if you want it 👍
