Bottom pic, for full benefit you want the wheel further back in the dropout so that the tab also sits well within the dropout.

I also have these and find them a pain in the arse to take the wheel on and off

That's why they're great! 😜

Thanks for the tip bud!

I actually don't find them that annoying to take off. Definitely not as fast as a quick release, but I am just a casual rider... so not fussed over having a quick release.
The key could possibly have a longer lever for better leverage but never the less, great skewers!

Where did you get them from?
I have an issue with some skewers fouling panniers on a front rack and these look like they'd fix that in a jiffy.

I got them from Ebay mate. I think they do them in Halfords as well though. But they do sell out often.

I had these, for 3 areas of my bike. I lost the key for one of them (had 3 different keys), but found a tool that can open them up pretty easily....not gonna post what tool. I use something i think is better now for security

We've seen issues with these not having enough retention for disc brake bikes. Use that info as you will.

So far no problems and this is riding on bad rough roads. All good for me.
Just recently got these Pinhead Security Locking Skewers. They look good, are light and are less protrusive than standard quick release skewers.
I have seen some pros use them on their bikes for aero purposes. If they were to get a puncture it would mean a bike change. But they do not take long to thread on and off.
I am happy with them!
