• Having recently got 3 wheels stolen while moving house (1 on my gravel bike and 2 on the bike below), I have no choice but to part with what is left of the mountain bike so can fund some new wheels for my gravel bike...

Sooo... ideally to sell this as it is rather than splitting for parts. All it needs is 2x 26" wheels with a 9-speed cassette and discs - and will be good to hit the trails and/or roads!

When it had wheels, it was an awesome bike to ride. Well fun and felt super sturdy. Hasn't been used as much as it should have, and primarily on road. Rode occasionally on light trails in Epping, never crashed nor jumped with it.

Fork is well plush and responsive, the frame appears bombproof. I gave it a full service (including the fork) last September and swapped/upgraded most of the parts. Full list below.

Users' reviews of the bike can be found here, all raving: https://www.mtbr.com/product/bikes/xc-hardtail/gt/avalanche-0-5.html

SOLD which I believe is a more than fair price considering the quality/condition of the upgraded parts + the fact that you get a great frame and fork combo for a few tenners more.

    • GT Avalanche 0.5 Large size frame - structurally intact, just a few scratches and marks here and there. Excellent condition for a year 2006 bike
    • Marzocchi EXR Dual Air fork 100mm travel - serviced a few months ago, stickers have scratches but structurally intact and working wonderfully
    • Renthal Duo Stem 50mm offset / 10deg rise - Purchased for £75 last June. Mint condition, rode a handfull of times since. Could sell it on its own for close to the RRP but rather sell the lot at once. Unless someone is interested in the stem only, hit me up with an offer
    • Crank Brothers Cobalt bottom bracket - excellent condition, rode just a couple of times (on road) so has most of its left - Purchased for £55 last December
    • Sram X9 groupset (minus the cassette) - great condition. Front derailleur has been changed to a Deore when the bike was serviced, but work seamlessly
    • Fabric Cell Radius saddle - great condition. Just a bit of discoloration, but awesome saddle. Really add 1 or 2cm of "suspension" for your bum. Purchased for £50 last year
    • Truvativ Blaze cranks - good condition, few marks
    • Shimano Hydraulics brakes - great condition. Have been serviced last June too.
    • FSA Comet bars - good condition
    • Lizard Skins Danny MacAskill grips - excellent condition, fitted last December so plenty of life left
    • Stolen Thermalite Pedals - bearings are still smooth, pedals just a bit dirty as you can expect.

The price of the Renthal stem and Crank Brothers BB come up to £120 so add a few tenners and you get a nearly complete quality MTB :)
