Just FYI, it doesn't look like Garmin allow transferring of warranties to a second owner.

No idea how they could enforce that if you had the original receipt and confirmation of order though.

I don't know how they'd know if you had the original receipt.
You could always say it was a gift.
Or return it via me as I was the one who bought it.
