Assuming the Straggler is going to be flat bar as well (given you're using the Zee drivetrain) you'll need some road pull flat bar levers. Tiagra ones are cheap and look alright.
Wheels will work fine with 10spd MTB cassette but I believe they're fairly weighty? -

+1 for Tiagra flat bar levers, I really like em.
People tend to knock BB5s though, as the caliper only comes from one direction, meaning the brake momentarily bends the disc in order to stop. Meant to be a PITA to keep adjusted.
BB7s don't have this issue. I have TRP Spyres and like them. There is probably a good Shimano alternative too. People inevitably just say to go hydro when this discussion happens though.

Yeah, flat bars on the Straggler too. I was looking at these after I started the thread. Seems like they fit the bill in one package.
https://www.cyclerepublic.com/clarks-m3-brake-system-160mm-front-and-rear.htmlI was thinking that about the wheelset too when I saw 2.5kg for the pair. Is there another otp wheelset that's pretty cheap and lighter?

Why not use the brakes from the Mtb? Especially if it's hydraulic

Exactly this ^ use some cheap hydros tektro or Clark’s they’ll be 10000x better than Bb5s.
Fitting road mechanicals and then getting road pull flat bar levers is the most backward thing you could do.

Are they supposed to be quite good brakes then? they look great for the money. Didn't @edscoble have some?

Great thank you.
Just checked the rotor size as Straggler max size is 160mm and they are 160mm so will be perfect.
Need to find a decent wheelset next.

I did, they work great for the money, and easy to service due to it's sharing similarity to Shimano.
Shopping around can be found for like £30-40.

Mavic Aksium or Prime (Wiggle)?

I've got the Clarks on my Roadrat, great for the price. That model is specifically called the M2.

These look like they fit the bill.

Looks like they're similar weight to the Planet-X ones but definitely a bargain.

I would choose the shimano hubs over mystery Chinese. I’ve got similar wheels on my winter bike and they’ve held up well.

Are they bolt on or QR? Pic has both.
I'm thinking of swapping my 26" mtb commuter to a Surly Straggler. I'm going to swap over the Shimano Zee 1x10 so I'll only need wheels/tyres and brakes. Just wanted to see if the parts in the below image will work? Don't have any experience with discs so wanted to double check before ordering.
