Seems you could quite easily go a bit lighter but it is indeed pretty hip hop. NDS fail tho
-
• #3
Could save on saddle and chain pretty cheaply aswell.
-
• #4
49x18 hill climb ratio of a terminator :)
-
• #5
Love it ! - much Want

Surely if you can afford that F&F, a half decent cog and lockring is within grasp? I mean, EAI cogs are around £50 aren't they?!
-
• #7
Even Dura Ace, like 20 quid
-
• #8
EAI titanium nitride cog, fibrelyte carbon chainring, ee brake, lighter skewers, lighter saddle, upgraded chain and corsas all to follow but these are seriously marginal gains. all together likely less than 1% faster.
-
• #9
Faster? I thought this was about IG gains? You seem conflicted.
-
• #10
Well I never thought Storck and HH would make it into the same post.
-
• #12
Push harder, might even get 2%

Don't get me wrong, build what you love and all - but there are definitely more cost effective ways of being a weenie. A Parallax can run to sub 6kg without being too spendy.
With that being said, I love the frame!

This build makes absolutely no sense and is extremely visually obnoxious - confirmed HHSB.

• #15
It actually all started from being ever so slightly unsatisfied with the climbing performance of my canyon aeroad -
headtube could be lower
the reach should be longer
the chainstays and wheels stiffer
seatpost more over the bottom bracketAlso on a more serious note if anyone wants to talk converting a road/tt bike to a fixed gear please let me know, happy to talk chainline and rear wheel conversion issues.

I'd like to make it clear that my comment wasn't a criticism.

Nice to see someone else taking the same approach as me to hillclimb season. I only drag my sorry backside to the top of the bloody hill for the free cake.
Was inspired by the various builds on this forum so thought I would post this. Have just finished it. Is a hill climb fixie. A real KOMbringer
Frame: Storck aero 2 platinum, 20th anniversary – lightest proper aero frame with horizontal dropouts 1200g
Forks: THM Clavicula – that full aero tho and high modulus feel 360g
Bottom Bracket: Kogel - smooth even for a ceramic bottom bracket 44
Stem: 3T Arx Ti 140mm – not overcompensating for anything, but oh so pro 150g
Wheel, front: Citec 8000/63mm clincher - real wind slicer even at hill climb speeds, 640g
Wheel rear: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/aforcewheels/al33-the-fastest-aluminum-bicycle-wheels ("super alloy") laced to a 32h 130mm Paul Components hub, 931g total
Cranks: Aero Vision, track and hella aesthetic 818g
Less fun stuff:
Front Caliper: Ultegra (cost-conscious reliability) 160g
Headset: No idea (nor how they work) 100g
Bar Tape: Old tape 50g
Front Brake Lever: Old lever 50g
Cable: Who cares 30g
Seat Post: Standard uncomfortable aeropost 300g

Bolts Campagnolo 12g
Chainring(s): 49t [included in 818g cranks as above]
Chain: Sram PC1 nickel 330g
Cog Brand X 18t – as cheap as I could find 50g
Lockring Normal one 20g
Pedals: Speedplay normal cromo nothing fancy 220g
