• I've got a cambium c13 I'm hoping to trial and it has oval carbon rails. I normally use a campag centaur steel seatpost. Is the clamp going to be a issue? Can I replace the clamps or am I in need of an oval friendly post? Cheers.

  • If your seatpost clamps top and bottom of the rails, you'll probably be fine

  • Thanks! I'll give it a check. Think this is possibly the first bit of cycling carbon I've owned, so am keen not to screw it up.

  • I asked Condor about this recently - fitting carbon oval rail saddle into a round clamp seatpost.

They showed me several examples of it done on their demo bikes in store (Strada alloy post with Fizik R1 etc) and told me they cannot legally show anything in store that is deemed unsafe or not for road use. I think most carbon railed saddles are standard round at top and bottom so they sit flush but with a bigger gap between clamps.
