Not vintage-y but this is good, probably the right size and well within budget:

I've got a Genesis Tour de Fer 20 (Reynolds 725) I might consider selling if that would be of interest. Looks like the dark blue one here: https://www.cyclingabout.com/2016-genesis-tour-de-fer-touring-bikes/
I bought the frameset and built it up last year. It's only 1 (weekend) tour old and is pretty much unmarked, I just don't use it. I'd be looking to sell it without racks, and it doesn't have the dynamo hub. But it does have a SLX/Deore groupset and everything is almost brand new on it.
It has guards and 3x10 gearing. I think it looks great. I also think it might be worth more than £500 though, but to see it used regularly could be worth it.

I have a specialised diverge, size 56, 2016 A1 claris model. Needs a new freewheel, looking for £350. It's got the usual minor bumps and scrapes, but no crashes. I'll sort the freewheel for £25. Comes with a spare chain and cassette. Chichester based.
Looking for a vintage-y geared commuter for a tall friend (6'2") mainly so he doesn't buy one of those godawful Tokyobieks.
Must have mudguards, gears and good looks. He's a designer so pleasing aesthetics are essential.
£500 budget.
I'm in Brighton but can travel to London.
