2018-08-15 - Rider Down/Fatality, Holborn

Incident with a Lorry at Holborn on the A40 just off Newton Street.

Just been confirmed as a fatality. AND on cycle to work day too.

Very, very sad news.

Terrible, this is on my commute and at the time I usually pass through, often see the same faces time after time there, on another day I might have been riding alongside you, rest in peace.

A HGV kills a cyclist, again.
These stories are hitting me harder every time.

Horrible news - RIP

I walked past this, this morning as I was heading out to a meeting (my office is 100m away) and it looked really bad. There's a traffic pinch point there with a very tight 90-degree turn for a cycle only path running counter to a one-way street and it's always looked dodgy to me.

Gutted to hear it was fatal.

RIP rider. My thoughts are definitely with all those affected.

Hitting me close as I must have rode through minutes before this happened as I work round the corner. Colleague was there at the immediate aftermath I believe and she sounded quite shaken by it.

The number of people taking pictures of the scene as I walked past for lunch really hasn't helped my mind either.

RIP, this is a main route for couriers coming from the city I used to ride it 10/20 times a day, I've had and witnessed so many close calls there, even on that terrible cycle lane @Soul mentioned.
