Giant Defy Advanced 2 bearings

....have acquired a used Giant Defy Advanced 2 frame (2016 model) and need to get hold of some sealed bearings for the bottom bracket as there were none inserted can any enlightened forum members help/advise which type? any help would be gratefully received

Depends which crank you intend to run?

I plan to use a spare Shimano 105 crankset - FC-RS500 also the cups that the bearings press into are embossed Shimano SM-BB 71-41

Thats weird. That sounds like a standard pressfit bottom bracket. The bearings shouldn't be easily removable. Just push out the plastic cups and put a whole new bottom bracket in.
