But a Muddy Fox courier is a shit frame, why bother?
-
• #4
Here is the frame. Not the lightest or most cool but a classic nevertheless.

Classically shit. I had one, it cracked where the driveside chainstay meets the dropouts. This happened to a lot of them.

Great stuff, look forward to your comments as the thread continues.

Hell yeah, keep us posted!

I'd say build it. It's your design and it looks like a fun project, but...
Please keep all the original parts, the stock build i've seen in the past was so classically cool. That way if the new build doesn't work out you can do an easy frame swap and end up with 2 very cool bikes.
Also, you sure you want to use a quill adaptor on this?

Impressive attention to detail on tyre-etching.
9/10.

Cheers - i did the pic at work and kept hiding it as i should've been doing something else... it was very calming and enjoyable though. :)
I bought the F and F dirt cheap so don't have any other original parts i'm afraid ; in the future
i'll be getting some other bars and a quill stem (ITM eclypse) but i already have the bars / stems (from 110 to 130 in length) so i can finalise the fit with what i've got.
I'm going for silver everything apart from the cranks and shifters and not yet decided on tape/saddle colour.... -

Looks great, what size tyres r u hoping to put on?
-
• #13
lovely drawing! every build should have one at the beginning.

thanks !
26 x 2.25 fit with good clearances.
Looks like PDW 45s will also fit over the fat tyres.
Not decided whether to go for big slicks like Schwalbe Kojaks or something with a bit more grip. -
• #15
Cheers - the wheels were drawn using a Nescafe Azera coffee lid.
I'm may dig out my old compass if i can find it as this would make the rims etc a bit more uniform . -

Schwalbe Kojaks
They only go up to 2.0" in the 26" variant unfortunately.
PDW 45s
As in 45mm? I run 2.15" Big Apples and 60mm mudguards. Wouldn't go smaller.

• #17
fair enough - they weren't properly mocked up just held in place.
those big apples look like they could be an option -

Cheers, arrives tomorrow. Does yours ride well?
Hoping it will fit - might have to flip the stem as the head tube isn’t the longest -

Well, now. Now you're talking.
Here’s the plan
