Beater road wheels: Shimano R500s - £20

For sale here is a set of Shimano R500 rims on R501 hubs. They came as stock on a new bike and have been used for commuting. They are in ok condition overall and I’m just selling as I have another new set that are cluttering up the place. If I were keeping them I would regrease the hubs as while not gritty, they are not buttery smooth. There is also a ding to the rear rim where I hit a pothole on their first outing. This means the rear will never be totally true, but it doesn’t present problems beyond that. I’ve commuted on them for a couple of years with no issues. There is very little wear to the rims, so loads of life left. Pick up is from Harringay area round Turnpike Lane/Manor House.

I only used them with 10-speed - and since I have yet to upgrade to 11-speed, i dont know if they would take the latter...

They're 8/9/10 sp only and r-501 (despite rim saying r-500). Basically the hub name depicts the model on these - r500 hub r-500 rim = r-500. r501 hub (better than previous model) r500 rim = r501
