I am actually feeling a little lost with my LBS Cycle PS closing, I mean I don't go there very often but sometimes it's just so nice to pop in just to say hello for a couple of banters or whatever. I wish them well with whatever happens next with the guys!

I only know Cycle PS from SEs, but I certainly feel the loss from that. They will be much missed.

Shame about Cycle PS. Good memories of pizza and beer with the SE crew.

How can a bike shop at an olympic velodrome with outside tarmac track and dirt tracks not be viable ?
Shop rent and rates ?

There's no passing trade, and most people who visit to participate aren't there to shop.

I popped in there a couple of times and it was very quiet.
I was made to feel very welcome, even though I'd only popped in to pick up a couple of schwalbe ultremo tyres that I had bought online for a fiver each.
There might be a market for a pop up type shop stocking basic spares. The nearest shop now is Bike Shack on Ruckholt Road

I spoke to one of my local bike shops, Walthamstow Cycles, about how things were going. The margins on selling bikes are tight, sales are down and are moving on line. They now concentrate on repairs , small part sales and keep small stock of bikes.
Looks like the end of the 2012 bike boom. It's lasted longer than the others , but like them it's ending with bike shops closing.

Putney cycles gone, a few years ago they had three different shops in Putney and now fizzled our to nothing.

My experience of them wasn’t good anyway on the multiple times I went in
I started a thread a few years ago when lots of new bike shops were opening amid the climate of cycling in London continuing to increase. Unfortunately, a lot of shops seem to be closing at the moment, so this is a thread to document that (and discussion of the reasons if people are wondering about why).
Recent closure news as posted in the other thread:
