Can't seem to get embedding google maps to work. Anyway was wondering if anyone had any suggestions about the route, whether I was missing out on anything cool or anything to avoid. Cheers

I've done the coastal route through Latvia Lithuania and Kaliningrad and itwas alright but reckon your more inland route is a better idea

Good to hear. Thought about kaliningrad but having to get a visa seemed like too much of a faff

Looks like you’re skipping the nicest country in the region... :>

Sweden? Route's still pretty flexible so let me know if there's anything I should definitely check out. Would only really be able to cut across the north though I guess.

I don't know if those are you're actual plans or just google's results, but I'd choose smaller roads for touring, than the ones on those links. At least E67 through Latvia and Estonia isn't that enjoyable, narrow shoulders, lots of traffic and big trucks. It is ridable, but not too nice really and you mostly just goes through without seeing much, like you would on the smaller roads that have little traffic and interesting villages. The countryside is really quiet there. The islands in the west of Estonia are really pretty, traffic is polite. There can be lots of tourists. On that side of Estonia, there's also an interesting abandoned prison and a mine filled with water in Rummu, closer to Tallin. The east is interesting too, the small towns don't look like much at first but you can see that they have a history.
And in Finland too, at least in the south, I usually avoid the bigger roads like E75 south of Jyväskylä.
There's something over forty national forests in Finland and those are usually great, intresting and beautiful places. For example Repovesi nationalpark wouldn't too far from that route, if you like gravel roads, and there's also a free to use sauna there, next to the Matkoslampi's lean-to shelter.
There's lots of pretty lakes and small roads around them, mostly in Eastern Finland. The land of a thousand lakes etc. And you can find a few old castle's too if you're interested, like Olavinlinna. The Finnish Lapland is special too, as is Norway, both in a different way. The scenery really changes at the border. -

While touring in Poland you can follow the Baltic's coast enjoying beautiful, sandy beaches, visiting lighthouses (I think there are 17 Lighthouses along the coast) and city of Gdańsk. Gdańsk/Gdynia/Sopot share really nice and unique atmosphere and the biggest of them, Gdańsk played a huge role in recent Polish history. It was home of Solidarność - workers union that played the biggest role in ending communism in Poland. I can't recommend the European Center of Solidarity enough - if you're about culture of the country you visit it's a must-see. Also enjoy fried fish, cheap beer and friendly folks. If you need anything, let me know!
Hel peninsula is quiet, there's a bicycle road almost along the whole peninsula, traffic is rather low and the beaches are wide and beautiful as hell. The beach at the end of the peninsula is especially nice in my opinion, tho might be a bit crowded. If you like kitesurfing or windsurfing it's a really nice place to do that as the bay is warm and shallow. You can catch a ferry from Hel to Gdynia - it's cheap and convenient.

Ohhh and if you want to stick strictly to the coast there are some unpaved stretches of the road, but you can also follow paved roads, however traffic might be rather intense at times (especially east of Gdańsk).

Decided to ferry over from Swinoujscie to Trelleborg and ride up the Sweden the end.
Anyone know if the Eurvelo 10 part going up the South-east coast of Sweden is any good? Looks not really complete on the website

I just returned from this, feel free to ask any questions https://www.lfgss.com/conversations/322324/
Planning a trip round the Baltic this summer starting by getting the ferry over to Holland for a festival then on to Germany before hoping on a boat to Lithuania. Next ride on through Latvia to Estonia before hopping across to Finland. Last section will be up through Finland to Norway.
