That's why I thought about lacing the hub 1x at the disc side, and radial at the non-disc side. Spokes to be used are the super tough Sapim Force. Hub to be used will be a Shutter Precision PD8 dynamo hub (32h).
The wheelbuilding thread will tell you if this is as likely to end up with a fiery death as it sounds :)

And, how about going 2x/2x on both sides?
Hi,
I am usually riding all my (track/beater) bikes radially laced at the front, no problems ever.
Now I have ordered a custom made disc fork at Orlowski for one of the bikes, and I will use a disc hub for the first time at the front. As I am used to the nice looks of radial lacing, I would like to preserve that somehow, but I know it's almost impossible with disc hubs.
That's why I thought about lacing the hub 1x at the disc side, and radial at the non-disc side. Spokes to be used are the super tough Sapim Force. Hub to be used will be a Shutter Precision PD8 dynamo hub (32h). Do you think that'll be fine? We are talking about an everday bike that is used in the city, the break to be used will be an Avid BB7, i.e. mechanical not hydraulic, and discs are just 160mm, and obviously no Downhill use and the likes.
And one more thing: I use a Paul Cross Lever that can be set (different pivot points = different cable pull characteristics) to work like a Canti or like a V-Brake lever. The Avid BB7 comes as Mountain (V-Brake) or Road (Canti) cable pull versions, i.e. I could use both. Here and there I read that the mountain version feels better, but in the end it should make no difference when the Paul lever is set right, or is there?
