26" rear wheel or wheelset

Posted on
  • My room mates rear rim has exploded due to not changing brake pads and riding on for too long.

I am looking for a good condition rear 26" wheel or wheel set for her. She hasn't got much money as she is studying, but I might have some stuff to trade with.

I also have a 700 disc front wheel and other parts I could swap with...

I am based in Crouch End and Euston.

  • I forgot to add that it needs to be rimbrake.

  • I have a 26" wheelset I could part with.
LX Deore Hubs - 7 speed I think.
Tyres included - I think they are Marathons. 1.95" or 2.10

Did @Batt take the Aliante in the end?

  • @batt has been snoozing like crazy so it is still up for grabs. The bike is 8 or 9 speed. You reckon your wheels will work?

  • I’ll check later

  • I have two brand new Dahon clincher rims in 26"

    https://www.evanscycles.com/dahon-espresso-jack-rim-EV165502

The external width is approx 25mm and internal 22mm, 32h

You can have them for the price I paid if they suit

  • Thanks, but I need built wheels

  • I've been very lazy about this.

    All yours @Thrasher .

@Hulsroy if it doesn't work out I'd still take — could pick up Friday.

  • I have a pair of Specialized mtb wheels for free. Just pay postage (I'm in Taunton). Standard mtb 8-9-10 speed spacing. Brake surface worn but good. I've got sone pictures on Photobucket or somewhere, if I can find the link I'll put it up

  • I also have a functional basic 26" rear wheel you can have for nothing - it's been in the garden all winter but should be ok. Think it's 7-speed. Collect SE6.

  • Thanks for all the offers. I will get back to you all shortly. Later today I have a pair for free... If that doesn't happen I will get back to this.
