A friend of my fathers saved up for years to buy a Porsche 911, something he'd lusted after as a kid. Saved has cash religiously over a number of years and bought one.
Drove it round the block a couple times, took some photos and sold it. Lasted maybe a month? My dad asked wtf he was doing and his answer was something like 'I wanted to own a 911, and I have. I don't want to drive the fucking thing, that's just pissing money away.'
Always liked that story.

It's a SCOOP ELITE GEL RADIUS, apparently.
155mm wide, nice and cushy but shaped good. Perfect for cruising around imho.

Afternoon all!
I'm selling my Peloton. After having a itch for NJS for a very long time, I've finally scratched it and thus have no further need of the bike.
Fillet Brazed, rather than lugged, which makes it pretty unusual for an NJS stamped bike. It's in lovely knick, although with the odd scrape and rub. There is a tiny dent under the second O of Peloton on the top tube, but I had forgotten about it completely and almost couldn't find it today. The smallest NJS dent ever. Someone has fitted a clamp-on rear brake at some point, so there is a little rub near the brake bridge. Otherwise undrilled and unmolested.
ST 515mm C2C, 525 C2T
TT 525 C2C
Fitted with...
Halo Hubs to TB14 rims, built down and Seabass and only used for maybe 100km tops before me.
Vittoria Corsas 25c
Campag Record Pista cranks (165mm) and Campag Record Pista BB
Campag Record Track Chainring 49t
Izumi Supertough chain an Izumi cog. DA Lockring from memory.
Kalloy Uno Seatpost with the decals acetoned off.
NOS ITM 115m stem, Unknown but really rather pleasant riser bars.
DA Headset.
THINGS TO NOTE: The saddle or pedals pictured (or poorly erased) won't be included. There will be a saddle and pedals fitted tho! I'm going to keep the EAI GMP cog pictured here, but will replace it with a regular EAI cog.
INCLUDED EXTRAS!!!!!!!!
I'm also going to chuck in, for fun...
A 155mm Fabric saddle - which has covered like... 20km from new? It's marketed as a womens town saddle but it's the closest Fabric do to a 155 Romin.
A 155 Specialized Phenom - Nice saddle, creaks a little under load, hence buying the above Fabric. You're welcome to it if you would prefer it to the Fabric.
A 90mm Nitto Pearl - someone, at some point, coloured this in with nail polish and glitter. It matches the frame and is very fun and cool. I'm not going to strip it, because I like it, but I recon an acetone bath and a bit of elbow grease and it'll be back to normal.
WALD Basket - Including all the struts and stuff. Probably a 1372, from a quick browse.
Pedals and Straps - MKS Sylvan track pedals, single silver toe clips and some Condor leather double straps. Nothing fancy, but perfectly functional with maybe 50km on the clock.
Moon Lights - A Comet X front and rear lights (I think?). USB rechargable, plenty bright for commuting and come off super easy for pub-adjescent lockup.
WHOLE PACKAGE: £600 ono, including a £25 to the Forum
Not entertaining splittage at present, but you know. Any questions? Fire away.
Based in East London / Kings Cross during the working day - Test rides encouraged - C.R.E.A.M.
