  • Hello lfgss fam,

Hope you don't mind me introducing my brand, QuattoSquared, that I've started a couple of months ago and thought it might be of interest here, but first of all I'll thank @Velocio for letting me put this up here, it's not easy getting the first customers without a consequent marketing budget.

Anyway, long story short: after an imposed career change due to mass layovers in my old workplace, I seized the opportunity to launch my own cycling wear brand. My experience in the trade is none, only as an end user so it was very confusing at the beginning, specially for all the legal and accounting stuff but after a few adventures, the first collection came out last fall.

The brand's ultimate mission is to offer modern, quality EU made technical clothing for moderate mid-range prices.

I'll just leave a slideshow and links where you can follow the brand for updates/happenings:

    IG: https://www.instagram.com/quattosquared/
    FB: https://www.facebook.com/quattosquared
    Site: https://www.quattosquared.com/

And as a thank you, I'm offering a 10% discount code until the end of March for all lfgss members, with the code LFGSS10 (no minimum order required).

Any questions, comments, suggestions, enquiries are welcome and can be done below, by pm or email at hello@quattosquared.com

    Thank you,
    Agustin.

  • Looks good, good luck with the new business! Might be in the same boat soon

  • Thanks! Where are you in the process, just an idea so far or ..?

  • I wish you good luck!

If this is inappropriate I apologize, but in my opinion the logo could maybe use some tweaks. I feel like it's a little too square, bearing in mind the brand name of course. I appreciate that making changes might be impossible at this stage, but I just wanted to show my completely uninvited small suggestion (which improves the logo in my opinion):

Though this might get you sued by Cube.

  • Nice of you, and makes sense. Not only is the symbol nicer, it'll go much better with the rounded corners of the lettering – perhaps I should qualify my unrequested input by saying I'm a graphic designer (too?).

Oh, and best of luck with the brand!

  • @Tijs @ough Thanks to both of you!!

No, it isn't inappropriate at all! In fact, I encourage all this kind of input.. I like your version of it and nothing's impossible! Maybe for the near future if I feel the need to change it.

I agree that the actual logo may be too square, it was done by a graphic designer acquaintance with barely any extra time off and I had given him quite a short deadline.. It wasn't love at first sight but I liked the fact that it looked like pixels and it's grown on me more and more.

@Tijs and for the website (yes, I saw your ninja edit ;)), I'm stuck with Jimdo's template until another friend of mine manages to help me with a custom js one, then I'll be able to do what I like/need.

  • I'm about to resign from a job that I have learnt to hate...The idea still needs to come!

  • Awesome, dude. You can always hit me up if you think I could be of use somehow (design wise).

@ough: Not a graphic designer by trade, but I do like to fiddle around from time to time.

  • Quitting the confort of a steady job is no easy task, starting your own project isn't either but it's gratifying and so much better to do something you actually like!! Keep us posted!

  • Thanks, will keep it in mind!

  • Nice work. Really like this, just need to start saving up :)

  • Nice!

    Unsolicited UX criticism;

Ran into a little usability issue on your landing page. Using "English / French" as menu labels might be confusing for some users—likely to be perceived by users as language / localisation UI rather than core UI elements.

You risk people missing the only route to drill down to ecom and broader brand info. Perhaps consider better exposition as to outcome of interaction (i.e labeling these items to the left with "Menu:" or "Explore:"), or having a single top tier menu item which is more instantly recognisable (the word Menu, hamburger icon etc.) with a single drop down which is split between the two languages.

Might be safer if language/localisation was done via a design pattern that is more familiar to users (commonly a toggle menu in top right of layout), and not with a split menu.

    Hope this is helpful.

  • Thank you for your input! I'll try to look around a bit for an improvement or see if I can add a menu bar or something.. this jimdo website builder is easy to use and launch a functioning website but very limited as to what we can do or add.. kind of a pain in the ass but it was the only one complying 100% with french law (where I'm based).
I'm not satisfied with this setup, that's the main reason why my friend's working on a tailored website.

  • Thanks!

I had seen it during the brand registration process, it does actually have some interesting tips/ideas worth keeping in mind!

  • The guy in the black looks like he's wearing a corset in that photo.

Does make me think the fit is messed up, although they look fine in all your other photos.

  • Haha, ok, I see what you mean.. will try to sort it.

  • The fit and quality of the products looks a bit whack in some of the shots. Decent effort compared to some chancers on here, hope it works out for you.

  • Thanks, I know they may seem made by a rookie for most/some since I've no experience in product marketing/photography.

Any particular shots I should worry about?

  • good luck bro !

  • He's a very unhappy chappy.

  • Strong effort - give yourself a pat on the back for getting this going!

  • All the best. Starting up your own business takes a lot of guts and can only wish you success.

If you're looking for a brand ambassador may I suggest @amey. He's a big influencer on the scene, social media content curator, brand builder and lifestyle icon. Huge following!

  • @Gaston @Howard thank you both!!

@GwGs thanks, I sense the irony, but I'll give him the benefit of the doubt! Isn't him the one posting small bikes in bp? ;)
