  • Has anyone else came across this guy? Need a new bottom bracket for a Cannondale Supersix Evo and thinking of trying one of his one piece parts to solve a creak.

  • Praxis and wheels manufacturing do them too. Token have a good one as well in the ninja. All these are available in the u. K

    What's the current set up?

  • @howard SiSL2 crank with BB30 bearings pressed into metal derlin cups in the frame. Quite a bit of wear in the cups which can been seen where the black anodizing has been worn back the the silver machining so assuming this is the culprit of the creak. Bike has been with another shop a few times over the past 18 months without resolve and would like to solve this once and for all for a new customer.

  • Bugger. If the cups aren't removable then give yourself an easy life and bin it. I mean fit an adapter :)

  • fitting compound such as loctite 641 or blue thread locking compound will take care of irregularities like that and help prevent creaking, i spent loads on pressfit BBs buying ever more expensive ones before i found a cheap one installed well is far better.

  • Maybe, but maybe not, and if it's already been backwards and forwards between another shop you'd have hoped they would have tried that. Bike shops though, I guess.

Sometimes they are just fucked, worn out, shit out of the factory, broken by a mechanic or owner etc.

  • Cups came out fine. I have 641 and accelerator which I normally use but don't want to do all the work just to have the same problem.

One other thing to note was that the crank was very difficult to remove from the drive side and the bearing ended up coming out on the spindle and was hard to remove.

Retaining compound on the axle / bearing interface from your predecessor maybe.
